ACRC Net

The Anoka County Radio Club hosts a net every Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. on the 146.670 Repeater.  Our regular Net Control is Parry Brown KCØTWB.  If you have any ideas for content on the net, contact Parry at kc0twb@msn.com or on the net!  Click on the ACRC Nets link to see the net counts and details.
 

Lakes 8K Run and 4K Walk - we need help for this event!
Saturday, July 4th at the East Lake Park, Blaine - Staging at 7:45 a.m.

The Blaine police department has asked the Anoka County Radio Club to provide communications help at the Lakes 8K Run and 4K Walk event.  The layout of the event can be seen on the following map (PDF).

We will be staging near East Lake Park, talk-in will be on our Repeater.  We have been asked to have everyone onsite by 7:45 a.m. so they can start closing roads in preparation for the event.  The Lakes 8K Run and 4K Walk will start at 8:00 a.m. and should run for about till about noon.

You should have a 2-Meter HT with fully charged batteries.  Bring extra batteries for your radio if you can.  If you have a safety vest, please bring it.

Blaine Blazin' 4th Fireworks - we need help for this event!
Saturday, July 4th at the National Sports Center, Blaine - Staging at 6 pm

The Blaine police department has asked the Anoka County Radio Club to provide communications help at the fireworks event of the BB4.  The layout of the event can be seen on the following map (PDF).

We will be staging at the NE Corner of Schwan's Center in the parking lot.  We have been asked to have everyone onsite by 6:00 p.m. so they can start closing roads in preparation for the fireworks.  There will be a pot luck with some meat provided by the club.  Please bring some food items to share.  

You should have a 2-Meter HT with fully charged batteries.  Bring extra batteries for your radio if you can.  If you have a safety vest, please bring it.

The Blaine Blazin' 4th fireworks will start at 10:00 p.m. and should run for about an hour.  We will need to secure the drop zone until about 11:30 p.m.

Anoka-ARES Meeting
Monday, July
20th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Blaine Service Center.

Board Meeting
Tuesday, July 21st  from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Blaine Baseball Complex

If you are interested in club business, then you are welcome to attend the Monthly Board Meetings.  All members are encourage and welcome to participate in the Board Meetings.  Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month.  Like the General Meeting, the Board Meetings are normally held at the Blaine Base Ball Complex and start at 7:00 p.m.  The Board Meeting Minutes can be viewed on the Club Documents link on our webpage.

General Meetings

You do not need to be a member to attend and family members of all ages are welcome. Each meeting will have a different topic for the month.  There are ten General Meetings from January through June and again from September through December.  We take the summer months off while everyone tend to be really busy having fun in the warm weather. General Meetings are normally held on the first Friday of the month at the Blaine Base Ball Complex and start at 7:00 p.m.   To view the minutes from these meetings, click on the Club Documents link. 
 

Club Events

Several time a year the ACRC helps out at events like parades, festivals, fun runs, fire works and more.  These events tend to be fun and several are great family events.  There is nothing like having a guaranteed front row seat at a fireworks event or parade. Check out the club calendar for more information.

ACRC Emergency Services and Anoka-ARES

As listed in our long name, the ACRC also provides supplemental communications support in times of need.  The ACRC has a reciprocal agreement with Anoka-ARES to support and coordinate drills and events throughout the year. If you are interested in putting your name on the list to help out, please contact Dave Runkle - KC0KEP (the Anoka County E.C.) or one of the other board members. Repeaters

We sponsor and operate two repeaters - a two-meter repeater at 146.670 MHz and a 1.25-meter repeater at 224.940 MHz.  For more details on the club's repeaters, please check out the Repeater Status page.
 

Do You Have Pictures of Club Events?

If you have pictures of club events and would like to see them up on our website or in our newsletter please make the digital photos or files available to either Shawn Rung KØSMR at k0smr@arrl.net or Tim Neu KCØLQL at tim@tneu.visi.com.  Email is the best delivery method, but you can also send a CD, disk or flash drive to us with the pictures on, or even post them to a web or ftp site and email us the web address to download them.  If you have a large quantity of pictures or if they are very high resolution, a CD or flash drive is best.  Contact Shawn or Tim with any questions.
